As of January 1, 2019, Tim Riley has been named president and CEO of Laclede Chain Manufacturing, Inc., succeeding his father Jim Riley, who previously led the organization for the past 18 years. Jim Riley will transition to a new role as chairman of the board.
Since 2016, Tim had been preparing to take over leadership of the company while serving as Vice President of Operations. With a deep background in electrical engineering, manufacturing plant design, and management, Tim has also displayed a passion for entrepreneurship since he began his career. Tim has a wealth of experience working internationally across 12 different countries in his role at his previous company, lending him the broad-based perspective to understand the cultural and economic nuances necessary to lead an internationally recognized company.
As Tim assumes his new role, his focus will be on preserving the company’s rich legacy and continuing to expand its offerings for high quality domestic products to increase the safety of manufacturing and construction environments.
Laclede Chain Manufacturing traces its roots back to 1854 in St. Louis, MO, when it began as a small blacksmith’s shop making chains that fastened oxen to Conestoga wagons. Since then, the organization has maintained a deep commitment to furthering innovation in domestic manufacturing, in addition to fostering secure livelihoods for its now over 200 employees.
“Our organization is one with a long, proud history and I want that to continue. I want us to be a leader in our industry for many years to come,” Tim Riley says. “We started in 1854, and I hope that we will be around for another 150 years.”
