December 28, 2021: Voluptuary Media has released their latest fine art coffee table book, HAPA Moods available as physical copies from Blurb and Amazon platforms. Inspired by the Hawaiian word ‘Hapa,’ meaning someone of mixed ethnic ancestry, the glamor photography series depicted in these books explore the beauty of Hapa women.
Culminating a three-year journey taken by pro photographer Michael Laudini, the moody, artistic feel of the photographs in HAPA Moods capture the personality and intimacy of each subject. Straying away from studio lighting, Laudini used the environment or natural lighting to cast the tone of each shot.
“Each of my subjects in this series is a regular person, not a professional model,” said photographer Michael Laudini. “By including women from all areas of society such as mothers, college students, dancers, and even a medical examiner, I am able to capture an intriguing and adventurous spirit in them, while emphasizing the unique beauty of each woman.”
Laudini has been working as a photographer for over twenty years. He applies his formal training to capture the essence of feminine beauty and his work has been featured in magazines such as Playboy, Boudoir Inspiration, Vigour, and Marika. His photographs have helped launch women into careers via America’s Next Top Model.
Voluptuary Media has delivered a roster of previous photographic projects including a photo journal of mothers, a unique series shot with prisms, as well as the 2019 “Empowered” Bikini Calendar. Now, these career-defining coffee table books cement Laudini’s legacy within his photographic niche.
“I love having the opportunity to hear the story and background of each woman I photograph and am always in awe of their journey and raw self-confidence,” said Laudini. “Each subject brings something new to the shoot, and their personalities really guide where the direction of the photograph takes us.”
With nearly 100 pages of photography, viewers will be able to see images of dynamic, exotic beauty that capture women in black and white and color, reflecting sensual shadows, mysterious settings, and the diverse backgrounds of each of the subjects. “I provide the name and ethnic background of each woman so that viewers can get a chance to know the subject of each photograph.”
HAPA Moods is printed on 8x10 premium archival paper and is a beautiful book to keep on display. The photographic print quality gives sensitivity and intimacy to the images, elevating the experience of viewing photography.
Full versions of each distribution type are available in eBook format, for sale in the Amazon Kindle and Apple stores.
