Wagner Companies Announces New VP of Innovation & Engineering
Senior Product Engineering Manager, Michael MacLeish, Promoted at Wagner
With great enthusiasm R&B Wagner announces the promotion of Senior Product Engineering Manager, Michael MacLeish to Vice President of Innovation and Engineering.
Michael accepts this new position at Wagner with over 30 years of experience in engineering, design and product development.
Throughout his time at R&B Wagner, Michael was responsible for the design and development of Wagner’s products. He coordinated cross-functional teams to bring forth best in class product development processes resulting in heightened value and performance.
As the Vice President of Innovation and Engineering, Michael is tasked with expanding Wagner’s culture of innovation. By working closely with Marketing and Product Management, he will design and develop new products to maximize company growth, market share and profitability. Alongside Operations and Manufacturing Engineering, Michael will work to optimize processes to maximize efficiencies within the manufacturing environment. He has also agreed to lead and develop Wagner’s Technical Services group.
“When I first started at Wagner, the company had just become an ESOP and along with that came a refocusing of our corporate plan,” said MacLeish. “Through that new plan, it had been decided that innovation should be made a high priority. Though we have grown since then, we’ve got lots more room to improve. I’m very happy to have been assigned responsibility for our innovation aspirations.”
Formerly, Michael was with SPI Lighting Inc., where he was the Business Unit Manager. Michael also has spent time with Milwaukee Sign Company and Kohler Company. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering degree from California State University, Sacramento.
