Waterleaf International, LLC (“Waterleaf”) is pleased to announce its selection as the awardee for the Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) Statewide ITS Communications Network Upgrade Phase 3 

 

Statewide Upgrade Contract Awarded Via Competitive Bid Process

 

This program is the third phase of an upgrade to the Florida ITS Operations Network (FION), which is responsibile for transporting mission critical video, voice, and network data associated with the FDOT’s operation.  This technology upgrade will provide significant increases in network functionality and throughput to reliably support new Intelligent Traffic Services. The project entails replacement of the FDOT’s installed TDM microwave radio backbone system with a new generation of microwave packet radio technology providing up to a ten-fold increase in network capacity. As contract awardee, Waterleaf will supply network engineering, program management, equipment, materials, installation and commissioning for the entire network upgrade.
